Tallinn, Paris, Peak, Royal National Theatre, & The Hay Winter Weekend…

    And off to Europe!

Over November, I’ll be speaking in Estonia & France, the latter at the world-famous Shakespeare & Co Bookshop near the Seine, which is all rather exciting.

Thereafter, a workshop at the Royal National Theatre as part of the William Poel Festival, then to glorious Hay-on-Wye for their Winter Weekend.

AND – this just in – the talk at the Peak Festival of Literature has just been rescheduled, after last month’s hitch.

If you’re in any of these places when I am, it’d be great to see you.

“In the afternoon, actor Ben Crystal will recapture the mastery of the Bard’s language and characterisation.”

…says The Independent. No pressure then.

But they do not lie, and I am talking on Sunday 12th October at The Independent Woodstock Literary Festival. It’s first year at Blenheim Palace and the first year of The Independent’s sponsorship:

[Over the weekend] leading figures from the political and cultural world will explore themes ranging from Shakespeare’s plays and Jane Austen’s letters to the Iraq war.

My Shakespeare on Toast talk is at 2.30pm, The Marlborough Room, Blenheim Palace. For those of you nearby, there will be tea and a log fire too…

See here for a link to the festival, and here for The Independent’s review of Toast

Hay Winter Weekend / Blenheim Palace

I’ve been invited to talk at the Hay Winter Weekend (28-30th November) at 9am on the Sunday morning… They’ll be serving toast, apparently, which means there are now two things to get out of bed for…

And it’s just over a week until I’m due to talk at the Independent Woodstock Literary Festival (9-12 October), in the Marlborough Room at Blenheim Palace. Roaring fires and Shakespeare… Who could ask for more? My talk is on the Sunday, at 2.30pm

See here for details of these, and other upcoming Toast talks…
